Episode 073

Angeline Chen, San Francisco

Angeline Chen co-founder of The Art Rising. Their mission is to bring about through art social change and environmental impact.

The Art Rising was founded in 2015 by Angeline Chen and Kyle Block.
It is a project to create bridges across cultures, explore our collective consciousness and give back to the World.

From Kyle and Angeline:

"

We begin by traveling to a region in the World .

We seek out indigenous artists to support and collaborate with.
We learn about the social, economic and environmental circumstances in that region

and how we can give back.

Our art is an exploration of the mysteries of our existence.
How are we connected across time, space, culture, language, and experience?
How can we utilize this momentous time of knowledge, imagination, technology, resources and change to empower positive action?
How can we inspire art as a tool for transformation into a more healthy, peaceful and just World?

Our latest project is called Samaki, a collaboration with Burmese, Thai and Khmer woodcarvers. It inspired us to build an artificial reef in the Gulf of Thailand and build a playground in a Burmese Refugee Camp.

We will continue building sculptural reefs and visiting refugee communities to develop art installations that can provide farming, free energy, internet, education and art.

We will continue developing new projects by visiting new regions in the world to begin the process again."

Olivier Girard and Lucy Martens - Filmmakers of THE TWELVE

short interview before movie screening of THE TWELVE

This is a short Interview with Lucy Martens and Olivier Girard, two of the co-founders of Le Ciel Foundation. As a foundation they have created a movie called THE TWELVE - The Twelve is a feature length documentary that gives a voice to wisdom traditions through the words of twelve Elders. They share important messages that we can all benefit from in these troubled times.

Learn more here: http://lecielfoundation.com/the-twelv... The film will be published in June 2019, for now enjoy some of the insights Lucy and Olivier share during the interview, which we filmed at a private screening in Mill Valley, California.

______________ more about the Movie description here:

In November 2017, twelve highly spiritual Elders from wisdom traditions around the globe agreed to gather at the United Nations in New York City in a council called The Council of Twelve and Above. Setting their cultural differences aside, they conducted a unique ritual in complete unity on an ancestral point of concentrated energy. The United Nations sits on this point. Each Elder holds a specific quality. The combination of all twelve qualities through this ritual enabled the Elders to lay out a new energetic matrix in which humans can live in love and harmony with themselves and planet Earth. The Council of Twelve and Above was the result of a vision that dozens of people all over the world received through meditation or rituals. Members of Le Ciel Foundation were among these people and decided to make it happen. The Elders were found through an active process that included meditations, initiations and rituals within different wisdom traditions, research, networking and a very large number of synchronicities. This film is not about the story of the search for the Twelve, but about thanking these incredible Elders who decided to travel for thousands of miles and unite to create a better future for all humans. This film is about giving them the opportunity to speak their truth and let the world know about what they did for the benefit of all. It is also about highlighting how wisdom traditions can be an amazing source of inspiration and solutions for ourselves and our modern society.

Episode 063

Bonnie Davison

Nature School Movement, developing Soul gifts in children & adults

Todays episode is a deep dive into the philosophy and experience of Nature School Founder Bonnie Davison. Bonnie talks about developing and encouraging SOUL GIFTS in children and adults and takes Julian on a journey to one of his earliest childhood memories.

Beginning her career as a music therapist, working with hearing impaired children who were learning to speak, sparked Bonnies interest in helping children learn to fluently speak, read and write. Then, becoming a classroom and learning resource teacher and meeting her mentor Dr Fleurette Sweeney inspired Bonnie to learn about and share Singing English Song-Games & Techniques, an extremely fun way for children to build a strong literacy foundation.

Of course, just like 'they' say, everything changes when you have children. When Bonnie decided she didn't want to be one of those complaining, teacher moms, she actually started her very own forest school.

That's when she realized that children, when at school, are not spending enough time outside, and something has to change in that development of over intellectualizing the parenting experience. And yes, being outside and connected to nature is another passion of hers. So as an avid outdoors woman, why wouldn't she want children to have the greatest classroom experiences available! She became certified by Forest School Canada as a Forest School Practitioner and six years ago started the Victoria Nature School and the Outdoor Learning Association.

She recently received a Permaculture Design Certification as well as her Permaculture Teacher Training Certification.

A New Republic of the Heart - with Terry Patten

Episode 060

It’s Game Time on Planet Earth.
Our evolutionary crisis is forging a new kind of 21st-century hero—one who looks just like you.

Who will you be in this time of great transition?
Join my conversation with Terry Patten today, author of the book called: A New Republic of the Heart.
Terry's work hinges on an understanding of how radical wholeness expresses itself in active compassion that restores wholeness wherever it is disturbed.

It breaks new ground in the way it spells out how wholeness has agency, and resurges, like an immune response, in the face of our accelerando of complexification, fragmentation and stress.

It spells out in detail how we can make every moment a practice of wholeness. In fact, it reunites transcendental spirituality with the spirituality of the soul, the spirituality of human relationships, and with sacred activism. It shows people, in detail, how to be united in heart, mind, soul, body, and relationships—and how that expresses itself in a new, expanded definition of activism.
