Ep. 329 Alessa Berg on Investments for a healthy, regenerative Planet

Alessa is the co-founder of ESG360, a climate and ESG risk management SaaS platform that enables its enterprise clients to quantify the financial impact of climate and ESG factors, then take strategic decisions on that basis.

Alessa also founded Top Tier Impact (TTI) to accelerate the mainstream adoption of impact and sustainability. TTI has become the global ecosystem of leaders focused on the critical issues of our time, present across more than 45 countries. For Alessa and TTI, “impact” represents a positive paradigm shift towards a sustainable, equal and joyous society.

Alessa’s expertise sits at the intersection of positive impact and emerging technologies. A key moment was coming across blockchain technology by reading Satoshi’s paper in 2012 at Oxford. Alessa sees technologies like web3 as enablers of transparent systems with a collective alignment of incentives among the planet, communities and individuals.

If you’re new to the field of impact and sustainability investing, you can read the primer authored by Alessa here. It starts by clarifying the difference between socially responsible investing (SRI) and impact investing, then covers some specific sectors such as cleantech and alternative protein.
